This project involves the design and construction of a single-storey rear extension to a family home, aimed at expanding the living space and improving the home’s functionality for modern family life. The extension adds approximately 25 square meters to the ground floor, creating a bright and spacious open-plan kitchen, dining, and family area with direct access to the garden.

Key Elements of the Project:

Planning and Design: The extension was designed in collaboration with an architect to complement the existing property while maximizing natural light and indoor-outdoor flow. Planning permission and building control approval were obtained prior to construction.

Groundworks and Foundations: The project began with site clearance and excavation for new foundations, ensuring full compliance with building regulations and ground conditions.

Structural Work: The extension was built using matching brickwork and a modern flat roof with skylights for natural light. Steel beams were installed to support the new structure and facilitate an open-plan interior layout.

Internal Fit-Out: The new space includes a high-specification kitchen with integrated appliances, underfloor heating, energy-efficient glazing, and bi-fold doors leading to the rear garden. Electrical and plumbing systems were extended and upgraded as needed.

Finishing and Landscaping: Internal finishes include plastering, painting, tiled flooring, and modern lighting. External landscaping was completed to integrate the extension with the garden and patio areas.
